DiscordRP - Restore Push / Rich Presence

Pixel 10 Pro is here and running GrapheneOS (More on this in another post later). The plan is no Google Play on my main profile at all. If something breaks/doesn't work without it, I'd rather build the replacement than fold and install Play Services.

First annoyance I couldn't find a fix for was Discord. No Play Services means no push, so messages just sit there until you open the app.

So here we have DiscordRP to restore push notifications.
It holds its own persistent connection to the Discord gateway, so DMs and mentions land as proper notifications with the screen off. Filter what pings you (everything / mentions + DMs / DMs only), control your status and mobile badge from the phone, starts on boot and stays connected.
Music rich presence too, any player, with album art pulled from MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive. That side draws on the approach Kizzy takes, so credit to dead8309.

All Kotlin, Compose + Material 3. No Google account, no Play Services, no analytics, no middleman server. It talks straight to Discord, MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive, and your login stays on-device.

Grab it here: https://github.com/spacealtctrl/DiscordRP

Android 8.0+, and you'll want unrestricted battery or the connection dies with the screen off.
Uses the Discord gateway, so use at your own risk.

Over and out,
